Product training at Bruks-Siwertell – our partners in timber reducing technology
A visit to our suppliers Bruks-Siwertell in August with our team for valuable product training by an industry leader.
We have been working together with Bruks for many years to supply equipment for chipping, screening, milling and processing wood for the biofuel, board, sawmill, pulp and paper industries. All solutions are designed to ensure environment-friendly, efficient, and profitable operations.
Bruks-Siwertell’s continuous development and innovation is reflected in the quality of their products. The advantages of Bruks machines include their robustness and long life, upgrading old machines, Hardox options for heavy wear parts, the ability to use wet and dry material and the highest international safety standards.
The Bruks products that Nukor supplies in Africa include:
- Chipping
- Conveying
- Grinding & Milling
- Screening
Chippers
We manufacture complete chipping lines that meet the highest performance and reliability criteria. Our heavy-duty machinery can handle the toughest conditions and Bruks’ drum chipper is no exception.
Bruks drum chippers with vertical drop-feeds are the optimum solution for chipping short logs. They are also used as re-chippers, Bruks Klöckner re-chipper, to reduce oversized chips after a screening process. The Bruks’ horizontal chippers with their large in-feed openings, lead the market and are capable of processing any waste wood product. Logs or bundles of wood with a diameter of over a meter can be reliably processed in Bruks’ larger chippers.
The action of the knives on the disc chipper works to pull the logs into the chipper and produce the correct chip length at high capacities. Bruks has optimized this feed-in process by designing its systems with an optimum chipping angle. This delivers the most consistently high chip quality while not compromising on log throughput. Our drop-fed disc chipper was developed to produce consistent quality chips from short-length hardwood, or short softwood logs.
The horizontal-fed Bruks disc chipper is particularly well suited for long logs as well as cut offs and slabs, including conversion of any sawmill residues. All wood products are processed into quality chips that are used for the pulp and paper industry.
Conveyors
One of the most comprehensive ranges of conveyors on the market from the traditional belt and idler configurations and unique horizontal and vertical screw conveyors, to state-of-the-art, extremely efficient air-supported, low friction belt technology.
Industry-leading innovations ensure that Bruks’ conveyors consistently deliver smooth, safe, continuous material flows for minimal operating and maintenance costs.
When extremely clean, dust-free operations are required, our conveyors can be totally or partially enclosed to ensure maximum environmental protection. They can be configured to meet every requirement and can carry virtually any dry bulk material from low to very high capacities.
Grinding and Milling
Bruks’ hammer mills are one of the most effective pieces of technology in the wood-processing industry. They deliver consistently high capacities and are ideal for dry and green wood grinding, generating valuable wood products for the particle board industry and other wood composite markets, pellet production, briquetting, and boiler fuels.
Bruks’ dry wood hammer mills share many features of our green wood hammer mill units, including those that ensure their low maintenance costs. They use highly-robust, low wear beaters and milling segments. Also, the counter-clockwise and clockwise rotation of the hammer mill means that it is not necessary to turn them or the screens and milling segments to ensure an even wear pattern, which further adds to a reduced maintenance profile.
Bruks high-capacity hammer mills for green wood grinding have been specially designed to handle the increased moisture content of these wood products.
Screening
Screening is a vital step in bulk material-processing. It ensures a consistent size and quality in end products and removes fines and other unwanted pieces from the wood chip supply chain, making onward processing more efficient.
Bruks Siwertell offers a number of screening options depending on processing needs. By ensuring that oversized pieces are separated from a load, our screening systems can eliminate material handling problems and any unnecessary downstream damage or inefficiency to wood-processing equipment or other machinery.
Our effective screening equipment maximizes a wood-processing plant’s yield by minimizing losses and optimizing production efficiency.
