Face and top machining
The compact CHU is a low-cost, user friendly machine for sharpening the face and top of carbide-tipped circular saw blades. Robust and uncomplicated, it fulfils all criteria of a sharpening machine. It can handle circular saw blades with diameters of up to 650mm for cutting wood and plastics as well as steel and non-ferrous metals. For circular saw blades with chamfer or bevel angles, the grinding wheel can be adjusted manually to the required angle by means of a scale. The blade-indexing, blade clamp, take off and grinding stroke are hydraulically-operated.
Simple operation couldn’t be simpler with the tried-and-tested VOLLMER PMC system. Once the number of teeth has been entered at the control desk and the tooth pitch and grinding path set with the handwheel, the machine operates automatically and switches off on completion of the set number of teeth. Circular saw blades with alternating top bevel, V-shaped or trapezoidal teeth are machined after a simple re-setting operation. The CHU uses water-based grinding coolant. The coolant is simple to exchange when required.
