Most commonly used are wood shavings ideally made from pine and kiln dried. The wood shavings are cheap, eco-friendly, easily degradable, super absorbent as they absorb twice their weight in liquid and the shavings mask the smell of odours. It’s also very compfortable for animals as it doesnt contain any sharp wood splinters which could harm the animals in any way.
