Description
OEST mechanical engineering offers dosing and application units for two-component liquid media for the automatic supply of finger jointings and edge gluing of all kinds.
Mainly, Melamine adhesives are being processed. They can be metered and applied either mixed or separated. In addition, Urea and Resorcinol adhesives, PVAc adhesives, EPI and 2C-PUR systems can be used as well.
Designed for the manufacture of:
- glulam
- solid structural timber
- DUO-/TRIO- lamellas
- window frames
- solid wood panels
- I-beams, etc.
The basis of the HYDROMIX dosing system is OEST’s self-developed high-pressure dosing pump. The durable and low-maintenance pump guarantees for reliable dosing even at high-pressure rates.
Because the dosing pump is equipped only with static sealings in the area of the metered media, also aggressive or abrasive adhesives can be dosed securely.
ECOTAC. FOR INNOVATIVE SEPARATE APPLICATION.
The new OEST application system is used in connection with the well-established OEST dosing system HYDROMIX in separate gluing of finger-joint connections.
This process involves adhesives with two liquid components. Glue is applied to one side of the finger connection and hardener on the other. Mixing of the components is done by the pressure of uniting the finger-joint.
Benefits:
- Faster, more reactive adhesive systems can be used since, the mixing of the glue is only done during the pressing procedure.
- Easy adjustment of application width. Since the glue components are processed separately, boreholes cannot be blocked with cured glue.
- The increase in productivity due to low cleaning effort.
Reduction of glue waste. Waste disposal of glue in the extruder head is not required. - New, cost-efficient technology: The application heads are constructed of several metal sheet layers and supplied through a central feed system. If one of the sheets is worn out, the costs of replacement are relatively low.
- Two delivery units and one distributing unit are used for each glue component. The delivery unit spreads the metered glue/hardener amount into the finger-joint profile. Afterwards, the component is distributed.
- A special metal distributing sheet is used to enable each individual finger joint to move out of the way if there are defects in routing, such as loose knags which impede distribution. This prevents the whole distributing unit from moving out of the way.
